Content & Social Media Management
Mary Waweru is a content and cultural strategist. She is firmly grounded in Pan-African values which is evident in her Afrocentric writing style. Her confident structure is formed by a combination of her high standards in ethics and international exposure.
Right before establishing Crest Impact, Mary worked in advertising as a Global Project Manager - Content Management and Digital Marketing at Wunderman Thompson (now VML). Her primary role was leading the Content Maintenance team for Nokia (dot) com and the Nokia Foundation websites. At the ad agency, she also worked with press releases, localisation, newsletters, digital signage, digital demand generation, customer journey workshops, social media, podcasts and contributed to communications for social impact for clients like KONE, Volvo, Dell Technologies, Bayer, and Nokian Tyres. She was also part of the internal content marketing team at Wunderman Thompson.
At Crest Impact, Mary has offered lectures and partnered on mentorship programmes on content, inclusive communications, responsible marketing, ethics and social impact at institutions like Åbo Akademi University, Häme University of Applied Sciences and Haaga Helia University of Applied Sciences.
Since late 2021, Mary has been a consistent content creator on LinkedIn where she has, so far, garnered 20,000 followers. Mary is guiding ethically-driven and African-majority-owned entities in reclaiming their stories and rebuilding intra-African partnerships that are ethically nurtured, economically sustainable, culture preserving and mutually beneficial.
cultural branDING
Crest Impact is here to guide leaders, businesses, nonprofits and other entities through cultural ambassadorship and storytelling.
Many people would love to support a business, nonprofit organisation or social impact initiative that is owned by an African especially while visiting Nairobi, Cape Town, Lagos, Tokyo, Berlin, Helsinki, Vienna, Kingston, Melbourne and New York. There is just one problem: they will not know where to find you if you do not stand out!
Crest Impact utilises various content marketing strategies to help your brand translate your value and reach potential clients, investors, partners and employees around the world. Your stories deserve to be told in your most authentic voice. Let me be your cultural ambassador.

Working together
Crest Impact loves to work with all kinds of people. We also have a special spot for ethical brands, marginalised people and Africans due to the harm that you have endured through systemic racism, various forms of discrimination, colonialism, and neocolonialism.
People of African descent need ownership which starts with telling own stories, selling our services to one another, designing and owning our economic structures, travelling across our borders and building solutions and systems that support us as a collective.
This is a mindset change that will lead to generational economic empowerment in the African diaspora. We utilise ethical content and digital marketing strategies to promote your ventures to the rest of the world which lays the foundation for mutual respect and gain. We always encourage people of African descent and their global partners to respect and celebrate indigenous African ways.
